The Associate Vice President of Human Resources (AVP HR) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of Employee Relations, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits (C&B), and Training functions. The AVP HR ensures these critical areas align with the organization's goals, foster a positive workplace culture, and enhance employee engagement and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:

  2. Develop and execute HR strategies that support the organization's overall objectives.

  3. Collaborate with senior leadership to shape policies and programs that improve employee satisfaction and performance.
  4. Align HR initiatives with organizational growth and transformation goals.
  5. Employee Relations:

  6. Oversee the development and implementation of employee relations policies and practices.

  7. Ensure a positive workplace environment by resolving employee grievances and managing conflict effectively.
  8. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across the organization.
  9. Serve as a key advisor to leadership on labor relations and regulatory compliance.
  10. Payroll Management:

  11. Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll in compliance with local laws and regulations.

  12. Optimize payroll systems, procedures, and technologies for efficiency and accuracy.
  13. Monitor payroll budgets and ensure alignment with financial planning.
  14. Compensation & Benefits (C&B):

  15. Design and implement competitive compensation structures and benefits programs.

  16. Conduct market analysis to ensure salary benchmarks are aligned with industry standards.
  17. Evaluate the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs and recommend enhancements.
  18. Oversee performance-based incentive programs and reward systems.
  19. Training & Development:

  20. Develop and implement training programs that address organizational skill gaps and future needs.

  21. Oversee leadership development initiatives and succession planning efforts.
  22. Foster a culture of continuous learning and employee development.
  23. Measure the effectiveness of training programs and optimize for impact.
  24. Compliance and Risk Management:

  25. Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

  26. Mitigate risks related to employee relations, payroll errors, and benefits administration.
  27. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, legal changes, and best practices.
  28. Team Leadership:

  29. Lead and mentor HR teams across Employee Relations, Payroll, C&B, and Training functions.

  30. Promote collaboration and accountability within the HR department.
  31. Drive a culture of innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).
  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in employee relations, payroll, compensation & benefits, and training.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulatory requirements, and HR best practices.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of HR initiatives.
