Human Resource Associate Vice President

The Associate Vice President of Human Resources (AVP HR) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of Employee Relations, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits (C&B), and Training functions. The AVP HR ensures these critical areas align with the organization's goals, foster a positive workplace culture, and enhance employee engagement and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute HR strategies that support the organization's overall objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape policies and programs that improve employee satisfaction and performance.
- Align HR initiatives with organizational growth and transformation goals.
Employee Relations:
Oversee the development and implementation of employee relations policies and practices.
- Ensure a positive workplace environment by resolving employee grievances and managing conflict effectively.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across the organization.
- Serve as a key advisor to leadership on labor relations and regulatory compliance.
Payroll Management:
Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Optimize payroll systems, procedures, and technologies for efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor payroll budgets and ensure alignment with financial planning.
Compensation & Benefits (C&B):
Design and implement competitive compensation structures and benefits programs.
- Conduct market analysis to ensure salary benchmarks are aligned with industry standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs and recommend enhancements.
- Oversee performance-based incentive programs and reward systems.
Training & Development:
Develop and implement training programs that address organizational skill gaps and future needs.
- Oversee leadership development initiatives and succession planning efforts.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and employee development.
- Measure the effectiveness of training programs and optimize for impact.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Mitigate risks related to employee relations, payroll errors, and benefits administration.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR trends, legal changes, and best practices.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor HR teams across Employee Relations, Payroll, C&B, and Training functions.
- Promote collaboration and accountability within the HR department.
- Drive a culture of innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in employee relations, payroll, compensation & benefits, and training.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulatory requirements, and HR best practices.
- Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of HR initiatives.
