What You'll Do

• Design comprehensive end-to-end technical solutions that address complex business requirements while ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability across the digital banking ecosystem.
• Ensure all proposed solutions are fully aligned with the organisation's established technology stack, architecture principles, and stringent regulatory standards.
• Work collaboratively with development teams to validate solution feasibility and provide ongoing technical oversight throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Maintain strict adherence to industry-specific security, performance, and compliance guidelines in every aspect of solution design for the banking sector.
• Document all technical designs thoroughly to facilitate future reference, knowledge sharing, and organisational learning.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to balance business priorities against technical constraints and identify new opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance the quality and effectiveness of technical solution designs.
• Proactively identify potential risks within solution designs and implement effective mitigation strategies through informed decision-making processes.
• Gather and analyse both business and technical requirements to create detailed solution designs tailored to operational needs.
• Design seamless system integrations, data flows, and service interfaces that support efficient operations across multiple banking platforms.

What You Bring

• Over eight years of experience in IT solution design roles, including at least five years in senior or architect-level positions within large-scale environments.
• Demonstrated background in the banking or financial services sector with a strong focus on designing solutions that adhere strictly to regulatory and security standards.
• Hands-on expertise in developing systems using cloud-native architectures such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as microservices environments.
• Comprehensive mastery of solution architecture principles, system design methodologies, and integration patterns relevant to modern enterprise applications.
• In-depth understanding of security protocols, data privacy considerations (including PCI-DSS and GDPR), and regulatory compliance frameworks applicable to financial institutions.
• Proficiency in API management technologies (RESTful APIs, SOAP services, GraphQL) alongside microservices architecture tools like Kubernetes or Docker.
• Experience optimising system performance for scalability using advanced techniques tailored for high-availability environments.
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices—including CI/CD pipelines—and familiarity with database management systems (SQL/NoSQL) as well as front-end/mobile application frameworks.
• Advanced skills in architecture design tools such as ArchiMate, UML modelling languages, or Enterprise Architect software suites.
• Exceptional communication abilities enabling you to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders alike.
