JOB SUMMARY

The role manages and directs all activities of the Plumbing, Process Water, Fire Protection and Lifts Section. Plans, formulates, implements, monitors and evaluates projects, department policies & procedures. Manages efficiently the daily operations and ongoing projects of the section, ensuring that costs are within the budget. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes and works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Support in the formulation and implementation of plans and programs related to Mechanical Engineering Department.
  • Prepares daily monitoring and annual work schedule and routine maintenance works.
  • Prepare preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance plan of the section.
  • Continuously reviews sections schedules to ensure that they are adequate for operational needs and to consistently perform according to standards.
  • Participates in the pre-fire plan program. Participates in hospital wide BEPADACT drills and provides recommendations on procedures.
  • Assists in the preparation of the sections annual operational plan and budget, incorporating the operational plans of the Section's associates under his area.
  • Evaluates program performance and develops interventions strategies where appropriate.
  • Develops operating standards, implements, maintains and updates policies, procedures and regulations relevant

    to the assigned Section through research, benchmarking, analysis and evaluation.
  • Responds to major emergency incidents and makes assessment, and if necessary, assumes command
  • Implements and monitors the preventive maintenance program of equipment/utilities
  • Oversee and directs the assessment and repair of natural or manmade damage to structure and systems or its malfunction that is critical to operations

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Graduate of B.S. Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering Supervisory position in building maintenance and/or relative to mechanical engineering and facilities
  • Preferably but not required: Safety Officer II
