Role Description

The
Senior Mechanical Engineer
will be responsible for leading the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor equipment. This role involves overseeing system-level mechanical architecture, driving innovative design solutions, and ensuring successful product realization from concept through production. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced engineer capable of mentoring junior staff, ensuring design excellence, and contributing to cross-functional engineering initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead system-level conceptual and detailed mechanical designs, ensuring integration across subsystems.
  • Develop innovative solutions for complex mechanical challenges using SolidWorks and other engineering tools.
  • Perform advanced analyses, simulations, and design validations to meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability goals.
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and qualification of mechanical systems; review and approve documentation and test results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure design alignment and project success.
  • Define and enforce engineering standards, GD&T practices, and best-in-class design methodologies.
  • Lead and support usage of project management tools (e.g., Jira) to track progress, manage tasks, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Troubleshoot high-level technical issues during development and production phases.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical oversight and professional development support.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience:
    10+ years in mechanical engineering with demonstrated experience in system-level design and product development.

Skills:

  • Expertise in system-level mechanical design and integration.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T, and engineering analysis techniques.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering standards (ASME, ISO).
  • Experience with advanced simulation tools (FEA, thermal, motion analysis).
  • Experience with PDM/PLM software tools (Arena, Agile) for design data and configuration management.
  • Experience managing design changes through ECR/ECO processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects from concept to production.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Location: On-site at 
    Aehr Test Systems Philippines office
     (not remote).
  • Occasional travel may be required.
