WE'RE HIRING THE LEAD SEO SPECIALIST IN OUR TEAM
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role where you'll own audits, strategy, reporting, and optimisation across on-page, technical, and competitor research. You'll work directly with the MD and Ops, leading all SEO activity while using SEMrush, GA4, GTM, and more to deliver results that matter.

This is our lead SEO role — the person who owns audits, shapes strategy, guides the team, and ensures SEO is executed to the highest standard. You'll work directly with the Managing Director and Operations Manager, collaborating with Local, Off-Page, and Content specialists to deliver results our clients can see.
THE ROLE
This is the lead SEO role in our team — you'll own site audits, strategy, and reporting, with a focus on on-page and technical SEO. You'll work across Local SEO, Off-Page, and Content teams to ensure all SEO activity is aligned and effective.
You'll be confident in our SEO tech stack — SEMrush (primary), Screaming Frog, AcuRanker, Google Search Console, GA4, and Google Tag Manager — using these tools to run deep audits, track performance, and deliver clear, actionable insights. You'll also lead competitor and SERP analysis to guide keyword mapping, content optimisation, and technical recommendations that drive results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Auditing & Strategy
- Conduct in-depth site and page audits using SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console.
- Perform competitor and SERP analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
- Develop keyword research (primary and secondary) and complete keyword-to-page mapping for commercial and service pages.
- Build and present actionable SEO strategies and rollout plans to stakeholders.
On-Page SEO Optimisation
- Audit key commercial and service pages for content quality, keyword alignment, and search intent coverage.
- Optimise page copy, headings, multimedia, and CTAs to drive both rankings and conversions.
- Ensure content hierarchy and structure support both SEO and user experience.
- Implement and maintain comprehensive internal linking strategies to strengthen topical authority.
- Identify and close content gaps based on keyword mapping and competitor analysis.
- Apply on-page schema where relevant to enhance SERP visibility.
- QA all page optimisations to ensure they meet SEO and UX best practices.
Technical SEO
- Diagnose and resolve crawl, indexation, and site structure issues
- Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, site speed, and mobile performance
- Scope and brief developer-led fixes with clear, actionable documentation
- Maintain clean XML sitemaps, , and canonicalisation
- Implement technical updates directly in CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify) and GTM, where possible
- Stay ahead of algorithm updates and technical SEO best practices.
Off-Page & Backlink Oversight
- Review backlink profiles for quality, relevance, and risk.
- Identify toxic backlinks and coordinate disavow submissions.
- Conduct backlink competitor analysis to uncover link-building opportunities.
- Support off-page campaigns with anchor text guidance and internal linking recommendations.
Content & Blog SEO
- Provide keyword mapping, SERP targeting, and optimisation input for blogs and content pages.
- QA published content for on-page SEO best practice, including CTAs, internal links, and structured data.
Collaboration with Local SEO
- Support the Local SEO Specialist by sharing insights from technical and on-page audits that impact local rankings.
- Align internal linking and content strategy with local search opportunities.
Reporting & Insights
- Lead SEO reporting in collaboration with Ops, using GA4, GTM, SEMrush, AcuRanker, and GSC.
- Pull, analyse, and interpret performance data — traffic, rankings, conversions, and engagement metrics.
- Provide clear insights, highlight risks, and recommend next steps to improve performance.
Ongoing & Quarterly Checks
- Conduct quarterly metadata and schema audits across active SEO accounts.
- Review KPI trends and surface concerns or opportunities to management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years hands-on SEO experience with strong on-page and technical SEO expertise.
- Proven ability to lead SEO strategy and execution across multiple disciplines.
- Expert in SEMrush, with proficiency in Screaming Frog, AcuRanker, Google Search Console, GA4, and GTM.
- Confident in WordPress and Shopify environments.
- Strong understanding of backlink analysis, competitor link research, and disavow process.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and effective in a remote work environment.
