PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiate contracted prices with vendors to secure favorable terms.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and after-sales service.
  • Ensure requested quantities are within the minimum/maximum levels set by management.
  • Verify that the quality and specifications of raw meat, vegetables, and fruits meet standards set by the Quality Assurance (QA) and Research & Development (R&D) Departments.
  • Conduct training sessions for newly hired employees.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the Purchasing Department.
  • Collaborate with QA, R&D, and Cost Control teams to conduct weekly market surveys.
  • Maintain and update a pool of qualified suppliers.
  • Review purchase orders (POs) prepared by the Purchasing Clerk daily, ensuring that prices indicated are within the allowable range set by management.
  • Monitor open POs to confirm complete deliveries and facilitate closure upon fulfillment. For partial deliveries, coordinate with the Purchasing Clerk to determine pending quantities and expected schedules.
  • Identify and research alternative raw materials and ingredients.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in any Business-related course.

Work Experience

  • Proven experience in a Purchasing Department, preferably in a Managerial or Supervisory role
  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools is essential.
