For the Tax Assistant Role, the team is generally seeking a candidate who demonstrates a combination of technical expertise, and a strong cultural fit with the organization

1. Tax Compliance & Bookkeeping

  • Tax Filing: Assist in the preparation and filing of various tax returns, including but not limited to, monthly, quarterly, and annual taxes with relevant government agencies (e.g., BIR).
  • Tax Bookkeeping: Perform tax-related bookkeeping tasks, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in the accounting system.
  • Tax Reporting: Support the team in generating and delivering accurate and timely tax-related data and reports.

2. Process & Systems Support

  • Documentation & Standardization: Maintain and organize all tax-related documents and records to ensure they are complete and easily accessible for review and auditing.
  • System Proficiency: Develop a thorough understanding of our tax software and accounting systems to effectively manage tax data and reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of tax-related processes.

3. Collaboration & Ad Hoc Tasks

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and documentation for tax filings.
  • Ad Hoc Matters: Be prepared to handle other tax-related ad hoc matters as needed by the team.

1. Technical Expertise

  • Accounting & Tax Analysis: Possess a foundational grasp of accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in financial accounting software and Microsoft systems (especially Excel), with the ability to quickly learn new platforms.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all tax transactions and reports.

2. Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Collaboration: Excel at collaborating with both internal teams and external clients to align on tax activities and requirements.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Be eager to learn new technologies and processes, thriving in a fast-paced environment with evolving business requirements.

  • Deadline Management: Possess a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality, accurate work, even when facing tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • System & Process Mastery: Quickly gain a comprehensive understanding of our tax-related financial systems and operational workflows, ensuring all tax filings and bookkeeping are handled accurately and on time.
  • Reporting & Quality Control: Take ownership of the timely preparation and delivery of tax-related data, demonstrating a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
  • Process Integration: Seamlessly integrate into the team and begin assisting with all tax bookkeeping and ad hoc matters, proactively seeking to learn and improve processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience in a tax-related role is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
