Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to champion quality across the software development lifecycle. This role emphasizes manual exploratory testing while also supporting ongoing test automation efforts. You'll work with Java-based web apps, iOS and Android mobile platforms, and dynamic web forms. The ideal candidate has strong SaaS product knowledge, thrives in complex workflows, and anticipates user behavior to ensure exceptional software quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive manual testing of web and mobile (iOS/Android) applications
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases for regression and functional testing
• Enhance and maintain the automated test suite in collaboration with the QA team
• Identify edge cases, boundary conditions, and complex usage scenarios through deep product understanding
• Review programmatic configurations before deployment to client sites
• Perform functional and regression testing of scheduled release features
• Apply exploratory testing techniques in an agile development environment
• Use AI-powered tools to enhance manual test coverage, generate test cases, and assist in defect detection
• Generate and maintain automated test scripts using AI tools
• Create and verify JIRA bug tickets with clear documentation and severity assessments
• Collaborate with developers, testers, project managers, and support teams to proactively mitigate risk
• Maintain test documentation, strategies, and contribute to a shared test case library
• Advocate for quality best practices across product design, development, and implementation

Required Skills and Abilities

• 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on manual testing
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or Playwright, with the ability to contribute to automation initiatives
• Strong ability to learn complex software systems quickly and identify edge cases
• Familiarity with AI tools for enhancing manual testing workflows, test case design, and exploratory testing
• Experience using AI tools to support test automation development, including code generation and test script maintenance
• Solid grasp of SDLC and agile/scrum methodologies
• Proven ability to create test plans and build test suites from scratch
• Proficient in version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Skilled in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
• Understanding of context-driven testing and adaptive test methodology
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate quality concerns to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong critical thinking skills
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Availability to work Canada-based hours, with flexibility once independently working in the role dependent on client preferences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing B2B SaaS products, especially in industrial or field operations domains
• Advanced automation experience, including API, performance, or security testing
• Familiarity with mobile testing tools for iOS and Android
• Experience with Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing
• Experience using test management tools like TestRail or Zephyr (i.e., beyond JIRA)
• QA certifications such as ISTQB
• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
