About this role. . .

As a Senior Auditor, you will play a pivotal role in managing audit engagements at the client level, acting as a key liaison between the firm and client operational teams. Reporting directly to the Audit Manager, you will oversee the execution of complex audit procedures, guide junior staff, and ensure timely completion of assigned audit areas. This role demands strong technical proficiency, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous professional development. With at least three years of experience in audit, you will contribute to the quality and integrity of financial reporting while fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management at job level at client premises
  • Responsible for personal time management and budgeting impacts
  • Direct link between Firm and client management / operational staff
  • Required to report directly to Audit Manager and indirectly to the Audit Partner
  • Complete assigned areas of audit process (defined during the planning phase) in a timely manner, communicating with audit manager when they are ready for review.
  • Review the work performed by Accountants / Graduates (as per budget agreed with Manager/Partner)
  • Provide guidance to Accountants and Graduates daily.
  • Communicate status of job and issues arising daily to Audit Manager
  • Communicate outstanding details to complete the audit with client management in a frequent manner and ensure the receipt of them.
  • Taking ownership of work allocated and addressing review queries in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving technical skill set of yourself and the Accountants / Graduates
  • Ensure Accountants and Graduates perform their roles and responsibilities, assisting with development where required.
  • Responsible for performing audit procedures in complex areas of the files. For instance, complex debt, equity, consolidation, going concern assessment, etc.
  • Preparing the requirements listing at least two weeks before an interim or year-end fieldwork begins and letting the Assistant Manager or Manager ready for review.
  • Completing planning section in a timely manner (i.e., at interim) and communicating with the manager when they can review.
  • Assist with completion procedures.
  • Preparation and review financial statements.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a similar discipline
  • CPA qualified or working towards (desirable)
  • At least 4 years demonstrated experience.
  • Professional services experience is highly regarded.
  • Proficient in the following software:

  • CaseWare

  • Xero
  • MYOB
  • MS Office Suite
