Kano Consultants provides consulting services to the electric power industry. We provide engineering assessments, design, construction/maintenance support, and data analytics for departments that include power generation, substation, transmission, and distribution.

We are looking to hire a proactive Programmer (Python & MS Excel) to join our team This is ideal for candidates finishing an undergraduate degree or recent undergraduates looking to gain experience.

Title: Programmer (Python & MS Excel)

Location: this can be fully remote

Employment Type: Part-time/ Independent Contractor

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing, automation, and analysis
  • Automate data processing and reporting tasks using Python and MS Excel (VBA, Power Query, Pivot Tables, and Macros)
  • Extract, clean, and manipulate large datasets from various sources using Python and Excel
  • Develop APIs or scripts to integrate Excel with external databases or applications.
  • Optimize and automate workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and debug Python and Excel-related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop solutions.
  • Document processes, solutions, and best practices for internal use.

Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Python Programming
  • Strong MS Excel skills, including advanced formulas, VBA, Power Query, and data visualization.
  • Experience in data manipulation, cleaning, and visualization
  • Familiarity with SQL and database interactions is a plus
  • Ability to integrate Excel with Python scripts and external APIs
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
