Senior Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Full Stack Development and Cloud-Native solutions to lead our team within the Risk Management Group. You will work in a diverse, multi-disciplined team across various locations, implementing solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage the end-to-end life cycle of products while staying current with the latest tech developments.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our office location.

What role will you play?
As a Senior Engineer, you will work closely with our end users. Driving the end-to-end development of products and platforms in line with stakeholder expectations. Including discovery, definition of problem statements, through to design and delivery.

You will be a leading contributor and support for our team of engineers. Building APIs, focused on scale, security and robustness. Providing guidance and solutions to complex engineering challenges.

In addition, you will have responsibility for enhancing developer experience and maintaining best practices such as CI/CD, TDD, pair programming, code refactoring and contributing to the ongoing evolution of our platform design and tool chain.

What You Offer

• Excellent knowledge of Java, Docker, EKS and AWS
• Understanding of Automation Testing, frameworks and libraries
• Experience with CI/CD, TDD, SOLID and engineering best practices
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Exposure to big data tools such as presto, hive, parquet files etc.
• Experience with SQL optimization
• Ability to work in a cross functional team, alongside including UX designers and other disciplines
