Assistant Franchise Accounting Manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage end-to-end accounting of franchised stores (Royalties, franchise fees, and marketing fund contributions)
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial submissions from franchisees
  • Review and reconcile franchise revenues, intercompany transactions, and variances
  • Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and company accounting policies
  • Oversee tax-related matters affecting franchise operations, including VAT, withholding taxes, and BIR reporting support
  • Coordinate with Operations, Legal, and Franchise Relations on financial and contractual matters
  • Lead audit preparations and respond to findings from external auditors and regulatory bodies
  • Strengthen internal controls to minimize financial, compliance, and fraud risks

Governance & Compliance

  • Support compliance with BIR, SEC, and other regulatory requirements affecting franchise operations
  • Ensure financial processes align with franchise agreements and local tax rules
  • Provide financial input related to labor-related costs (e.g., statutory benefits, final pay, and compliance risks)
  • Assist in mitigating potential disputes that may escalate to DOLE or legal cases, through accurate documentation and timely reporting

Leadership Scope

  • Supervise and develop franchise accounting staff
  • Enforce standardized accounting processes across franchise operations
  • Drive process improvements to improve accuracy, timeliness, and controls

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • On-time and accurate franchise financial reporting
  • Royalty and franchise fee collection rate
  • Reconciliation variance level
  • Audit findings (number and severity)
  • Month-end close cycle time

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accountancy or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum 57 years accounting experience, preferably in franchise, retail, or multi-unit operations
  • Strong working knowledge of PFRS, BIR compliance, and internal controls
