US Estate Planning Paralegal

In this role, you will provide support to a New York Estate Planning attorney, assisting them with a range of tasks including legal research, case discovery, legal writing, client liaison, court filings, legal document preparation and can handle high-volume caseloads. You will be working 40-50 hours per week during US business hours, and get paid weekly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare essential legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.
  • Assist in the probate process by preparing necessary filings, managing court documents, and communicating with beneficiaries and executors.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support estate planning strategies, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Liaise with clients to gather information, explain legal concepts, and provide updates on case progress.
  • Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all documents are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with legal standards.
  • Provide support in estate-related litigation, including preparation of pleadings, discovery documents, and trial materials.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or/and a Juris Doctor degree
  • Experience working as a paralegal for a US law firm 2 years
  • Knowledge in New York Trust and Estate Planning is a MUST
  • Fluent in advanced American English, written and oral
  • Experience in legal research, case discovery, and legal writing
  • Experience using Lawmatics is preferred or to similar tools like Clio, LexisNexis, Westlaw, Casetext
  • Excellent personal presentation and telephone manner
