Product Officer for Digital Library Resources
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. On Library Digital Resources
• Keeps updated title listings of digital resources e.g. Vital Source Explore, Perlego, etc.
• Must be cognizant with the digital products/ resources on-hand and incoming products
• Prepare and File the following documents:
- Product Brief
- Marketing Collaterals
- Presentation (PPT)
- Proposal Launching for Partnership
- Proposed Pricing
• Facilitates trial access requests to publishers and monitors results.
• Recommends alternative titles if selected titles by clients are inactive or no longer available.
• Requests quotations from foreign publishers and coordinates with the Pricing Unit for peso pricing.
• Files the Notice for Price Approval for the different Accounts/institution.
• Requests creation of bundles for collections for C&E-published e-book
• Prepares and collates all necessary documents to facilitate PO processing of confirmed subscriptions
• Prepare, route, and monitor RS for the preparation of orders.
• Prepares Item Entry and PR for approved RS
• Coordinates with foreign publishers regarding account creation or setup once the subscription is confirmed by the client, BSO, and the PMCS.
• Coordinates with Publisher's Technical Support for the clients Account
Technical Problems.
• Maintains pipeline for digital resources for the library and informs BSOs of expiring subscriptions.
• Prepares or requests from foreign publishers, the Certificate of Authorized or Exclusive Distributorship, as requested by the Business Solutions Officer in compliance with the client's request.
• Coordinates with Publisher for Usage Report of the Clients.
• Sends updated pricelist to the Sales Team every end of the month.
b. On Administrative Tasks
Abides by the company's policies and procedures, rules and regulations, management directives, and other official instructions made through inter-office memoranda or other written or oral forms.
Participates and performs tasks for personnel development, and performance review.
Performs other related functions that may be assigned by PEAMD Head or HED Unit Head.
IV. QUALIFICATION GUIDES
a. Education
Graduate of Education, Library Science or Library and Information Science and Business related-courses.
Undergraduate level, post-graduate units / degree is an advantage
b. Experience
- Minimum of
2 years of work experience
in educational publishing, in an academic institution
c. Skills
Has excellent written and oral communication skills
Possess knowledge about the textbook publishing industry
Has strong people and performance management skills
Possesses excellent information-gathering and monitoring skills
Has problem-analysis and solving skills
Ability to base decisions on sound data analysis
Has initiative and keen attention to details
Must be proficient in computer-based applications, such as word processing, creating spreadsheets and slide presentations
Able to handle large workloads and meet tight deadlines.
Good at time management and knows how to prioritize tasks.
Can demonstrate innovation and good judgement and utilize problem-solving skills when making decisions.
