Job Description: Commercial Manager (Financial Focus) - Liquor Business

Position Overview:

The Commercial Manager will work under the direct supervision of the CEO, primarily focusing on the financial aspects of the business. This role is ideal for candidates looking to develop their careers in commercial finance within the liquor industry, involving financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Analysis:

- Conduct financial analysis to assess the profitability of various product lines and sales initiatives.

- Monitor key financial metrics and prepare regular reports for the CEO, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.

  2. Assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

  3. Analyze variances between actual financial performance and budgeted figures, providing insights for corrective actions.

  4. Cost Management:

  5. Evaluate and analyze costs associated with production, sales, and marketing to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

  6. Support pricing strategy development by analyzing cost structures and market conditions.

  7. Sales Reporting:

  8. Prepare detailed sales reports that include revenue performance, margin analysis, and sales forecasts to support decision-making.

  9. Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate sales data collection and reporting.

  10. Financial Modelling:

  11. Assist in developing financial models to support business initiatives, investment decisions, and scenario planning.

  12. Conduct sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of different business scenarios on financial performance.

  13. Stakeholder Communication:

  14. Prepare presentations and reports for leadership meetings, effectively communicating financial insights and recommendations.
  15. Engage with key stakeholders to gather necessary data and provide financial guidance.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.

- Experience: 3 years of experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, or a related role; experience in the liquor or beverage industry is a plus.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.

- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.

- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling; experience with accounting software.

- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about financial issues.
