About the role

The Building & Facilities Maintenance Officer, is responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance, safety, and functionality of all structures and building systems within the company's facilities. This includes supervision of preventive and corrective maintenance, coordination with service contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of the company's buildings, facilities and equipment to identify any maintenance or repair needs and safety hazards
  • Supervise and coordinate repairs, renovations, and daily maintenance works including electrical, plumbing, AC, structural, and general carpentry
  • Coordinate and supervise third-party contractors and ensure quality of work meets company standards necessary for repairs and maintenance work
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and programs
  • Maintain records of inspections, maintenance logs, service reports, and utility usage
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
  • Respond promptly to any emergency or urgent maintenance requests
  • Document all maintenance activities and preparing regular reports for management
  • Promote a safe and clean working environment by enforcing health and safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and company policies
  • Provide recommendations for facility upgrades, replacements, and cost-saving initiatives

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related vocational or technical course
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in building and facilities maintenance of constructions such as office buildings, condominiums, commercial complexes, or industrial facilities
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in the maintenance of building systems, such as AC, plumbing, and electrical
  • Proactive, strong leadership and supervisory skills and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to quickly identify and resolve issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and maintenance manuals
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
