JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Prepares patients prior (checks patients' vital signs, laboratory results, fluid balances), during (monitors, adjusts treatment settings, administer and carry out doctor's orders, medications), and after the procedure (post-procedural care, home medications including instructions);
  • Keeps accurate records of treatment, patient status, and any change in patient condition, including the documentation of patient and family education on continuity of care and DOH-mandated registries;
  • Shares important information with doctors and other members of the health care team to provide the best care for patients;
  • Observes infection control guidelines, uses aseptic techniques especially when handling hemodialysis access sites;
  • Responds to emergencies and other hemodialysis complications; performs CPR, first aid when necessary;
  • Extends emotional support to patients and relatives;
  • Checks and maintains supplies for the Unit, the code cart;
  • Sets up, operates, troubleshoots, cleans hemodialysis machines and accessories such as dialyzers, reverse osmosis system, and reports any equipment concerns to both Biomed and suppliers; assists with repairs whenever necessary;
  • Facilitates charges needed in hemodialysis treatment of patient including the Philhealth; and
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Immediate Superior from time to time.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • At least six (6) months experience in hospital wards or similar field
  • Good communication skills, empathic, pleasant personality, well-groomed, above-average level of maturity, a team-player, committed and dedicated to the goals and functions of the Department and Medical Center, ability to work under pressure, highly dependable in terms of confidentiality
  • With valid/ active PRC license, Certification in Hemodialysis Training with IVT Training
  • One (1) Full-Time position available
