Important: Please do not apply unless you have real, practical experience managing end-to-end bookkeeping in Xero, including reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.

What You'll Be Doing

You will manage the full bookkeeping function for a UK-based company, including:

Daily & Weekly Accounting Duties

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero and Odoo
• Recording and reconciling sales and purchase invoices
• Performing daily bank reconciliations
• Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the accounts@ mailbox
• Supporting credit control, including following up overdue invoices
• Checking and verifying automated Odoo–Xero data feeds

Monthly & Reporting Duties

• Contributing to monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
• Ensuring VAT, CIS, and other statutory obligations are recorded accurately
• Assisting with internal reporting, budgets, forecasts, and KPI preparation
• Preparing weekly and monthly payment runs
• Assisting external accountants with year-end activities

Process & Systems

• Supporting process improvements, internal controls, and accounting automation
• Helping standardise and document financial processes
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation

We're Looking for Someone Who Has:

• Proven bookkeeping experience using Xero (essential)
• Experience with Odoo or similar ERP/accounting platforms (advantage)
• Strong understanding of VAT, CIS, reconciliations, reporting, and basic payroll
• High attention to detail with a passion for accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Experience preparing management accounts (preferred)

Please Don't Apply If:

• You have only used accounting software other than Xero (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks)
• You do not have hands-on bookkeeping experience
• You have not managed reconciliations, AP/AR, VAT/CIS, or management reporting
• You are a general admin assistant without financial accounting responsibilities

About the Role

This is a remote, long-term role supporting a UK business with high standards for financial accuracy and timely reporting. You'll play a critical part in the finance function—your work will directly support:

• Management
• External accountants
• Auditors
• Tax advisers
• Internal stakeholders

This is not an entry-level role. You will be working on live accounts with daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines that must be met with precision.
