Licensed Civil Design Engineer

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Participate in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the establishment of the End User's requirements in the proposed CAPEX projects from Planning Stage.

2. Prepares detailed engineering design and all necessary technical bidding documents for CAPEX inhouse and out-sourced projects in accordance with specified quality, cost and time frame and acceptability as prescribed by the company

3. Monitor, review, check and coordinate with End Users the submitted Contract Drawings, and other technical bidding documents prepared by contractors/ consultants of

Bank-financed projects or CAPEX Projects in accordance with specified quality, cost and time frame and acceptability as prescribed by the company.

1. Evaluates and recommends acceptable schemes of design for completion and coordinates all Working Drawings submitted by Engineers and Contractors prior to implementation on site within the prescribed time frame and in accordance with Maynilad Standard Drawings and Specification

2. Reviews, checks and coordinates with End Users the submitted Design Drawings of "Design and Build" projects by Consultants or Contractors prior to implementation on site within the prescribed time frame and in accordance with Maynilad Standard Drawings and Specification.

3. Prepares complete and accurate quantity take-off within the prescribed time frame which is required in the preparation of schedule of prices and measurement and payment for in-house designed CAPEX projects.

4. Review Schedule of Prices and Measurement and Payment for designed CAPEX projects within the prescribed time frame.

5. Prepare engineering related calculations and develop design drawings and specifications.

6. Assists the GIS survey team in undertaking the planimetric and topographic surveys prior to engineering design of the proposed projects within the given time frame.

7. Evaluates Construction Methodologies and Materials in accordance with Maynilad standard specifications.

8. Conducts structural investigation on site as required, and prepares investigation report with findings, comments, evaluation and recommendation.

9. Updates the standards of Maynilad based on local and international structural code improvements.

10. Perform or oversee, surveying operations to establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction

11. Conducts site visit, field investigation and construction review once a week; ensures adherence to the approved designs and project specifications.

12. Prepares technical response to Contractor and other Stakeholder's request for information (RFI).

13. Ensures maintenance of various records, reports and other documentation concerning activities under charge, i.e., construction estimates, survey notes, design drawings, transmittal letters.

14. Performs accurate review of Civil and Structural drawings of detailed engineering design

15. Provides technical support to other divisions of Maynilad.

16. Does other related engineering and management tasks as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATION

PRC Registered Civil Engineer

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Must have up to three (3) years of total working experience, including entry-level or no prior experience (0–3 years).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

• Knowledgeable in the local and international structural Codes such as NSCP, NBCP, NFPA, and ASCE

• Capable of using CAD tools/Software such as AutoCAD and other design software.

• Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations

• Proficient in the following structural and architectural design fundamentals: o Structural Design o Load calculations/analysis o Structural Drawing

• Proficient with MS Office Programs

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
