AU Accountant

Position Title: AU Accountant / Bookkeeper - Xero
Work Set-up: Work From Home
Salary: Php 45,000 – Php 50,000
Schedule: 6:00am – 3:00pm PH time

We are recruiting an experienced Australian Accountant / Bookkeeper to support an established Australian business.
This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys hands-on accounting work, clean financials, and taking ownership of tasks end-to-end. You'll work directly with Australian stakeholders, manage core accounting responsibilities independently, and play a key role in month-end and ongoing financial operations.
This is not a VA or entry-level role — it's suited to someone confident in Australian accounting and Xero who wants a stable, long-term position working Australian hours.

Key Responsibilities
● Prepare monthly journals and adjustments
● Perform general bookkeeping and accounting tasks
● Maintain accurate, well-organised financial records
● Use SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite to manage documentation
● Support month-end reporting
● Respond to ad hoc management requests
● Manage accounting tasks end-to-end with minimal supervision
● Work directly with senior stakeholders when required

Mandatory Requirements (Non-negotiable)
Applications that do not meet all mandatory requirements will not proceed.
● Minimum 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience working with Australian clients or Australian businesses
● Minimum 12 months of hands-on Xero experience in a live Australian accounting environment, involving core bookkeeping and accounting functions beyond invoicing or quotations only.
● SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite experience
● Intermediate Excel skills (used regularly in an accounting role), including:
○ Pivot tables
○ VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
○ SUMIF / COUNTIF
○ Formula nesting
○ Data cleaning
○ Basic modelling
● Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
● High level of accuracy and attention to detail
● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
● Willing and able to work Australian business hours (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM PHT)

Preferred (Highly Advantageous)
● Experience working within a broader ERP or accounting system environment (e.g. integrated accounting, reporting, or payroll systems beyond Xero).
● Exposure to Australian payroll processes (e.g. pay cycles, superannuation, PAYG withholding), whether through direct processing or accounting support.
● Working knowledge of Australian GST as applied in day-to-day accounting (e.g. GST coding, reconciliation, or reporting support).
● Demonstrated ability to learn and work with new accounting or reporting systems in a structured environment.
