Medical Biller

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will manage patient billing, insurance claims, and financial records with precision and professionalism. You'll work directly with insurance companies, patients, and internal staff to ensure accurate billing, timely claim submissions, and resolution of payment discrepancies. This position requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency with billing software, and a commitment to maintaining accurate medical and financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies with accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure patient medical information is accurate, current, and compliant with HIPAA regulations
• Prepare detailed bills, invoices, and statements documenting amounts due for medical procedures and services
• Follow up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies with patients and insurance providers
• Examine patient bills for accuracy and request missing information from patients or clinical staff
• Investigate and appeal denied claims, working with insurance companies to secure payment
• Maintain billing software by updating rate changes, cash spreadsheets, and current collection reports
• Communicate professionally with patients, insurance agents, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries
• Monitor accounts receivable and generate collection reports for management review
• Stay current with insurance policy changes and billing regulations

Key Qualifications

• AdvancedMD Experience (required) - Proficient in AdvancedMD billing system
• Medical Billing Experience - Minimum 2+ years as a medical biller or similar healthcare billing role
• Billing Software & EMR Knowledge - Solid understanding of medical billing software and electronic medical records systems
• Multitasking & Time Management - Ability to manage multiple claims, accounts, and deadlines simultaneously
• Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication for interacting with insurance companies, patients, and staff
• Problem-Solving & Organization - Outstanding ability to identify issues, resolve discrepancies, and maintain organized records
• Attention to Detail - Meticulous accuracy in data entry, claim preparation, and financial documentation
• HIPAA Compliance - Understanding of patient privacy regulations and secure handling of medical information
• Customer Service - Professional and courteous demeanor when handling patient inquiries and concerns

Compensation & Terms

Salary Range: TBD during the interview

Hours: 40 hours/week

Schedule: Flexible (day or night shift options available)

Probation Period: 3 months with performance review and potential salary adjustment
