Senior Data Center Network Engineer

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing highly available and secure network infrastructures across multiple data centers and cloud environments. You will take ownership of projects from design through implementation, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational and client requirements.

This role emphasizes data center network management, dynamic routing (BGP, OSPF), and hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Tufin technologies. You will also contribute to the management of Azure-based network solutions and maintain connectivity between private and public cloud environments.

You will serve as a technical lead for complex projects, provide escalation support for critical incidents, and help drive continuous improvement across infrastructure and operations teams.

• Lead end-to-end network projects — from initial design, planning, and architecture through implementation, documentation, and post-deployment review.
• Manage and optimize data center network infrastructure across multiple U.S. and U.K. locations, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configure, support, and troubleshoot dynamic routing environments leveraging BGP and OSPF across various connectivity types (DIA, PTP, VPN, multi-gig links, cross-connects).
• Administer and support Cisco (ISR, ASR, Nexus, Catalyst), Palo Alto, and Tufin network and security platforms.
• Provide hands-on management of Azure networking, including hybrid integrations between on-premises and cloud-based environments.
• Deliver technical leadership and escalation support for complex incidents impacting data centers, client offices, or cloud networks (Azure, AWS).
• Design and maintain next-generation firewall configurations and associated security policies, with a focus on Palo Alto NGFW platforms.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and high-profile clients to design and deploy solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
• Stay current on evolving networking technologies and recommend enhancements to improve reliability, performance, and security.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise or MSP network environments.
• Proven experience managing and maintaining data center network infrastructures, including routing, switching, and security components.
• Strong command of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and network technologies such as Spanning Tree, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, IPSEC, QoS, NAT, ACLs.
• Extensive experience deploying and managing Cisco hardware (ISR, ASR, Nexus, Catalyst) and Palo Alto NGFW solutions.
• Experience with Tufin or similar network security policy management solutions.
• Working knowledge of Azure networking services (VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, etc.) and integration with private data center networks.
• Solid understanding of virtualization and network integration with VMware infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently from conception through delivery, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
• Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and collaboration.
• Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, multi-project environment.

Nice to have

• Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent.
• Additional experience with next-generation firewall technologies (Fortinet, Check Point, etc.).
• Familiarity with additional network protocols or automation frameworks
• Prior experience in MSP or large enterprise environments supporting multi-tenant or mission-critical networks.

• Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
• Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
