I. Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical programs and services, assuring appropriate resources for the delivery of care.
Provides means and methods by which nursing personnel can interpret the goals and policies of the hospital and that of the nursing service to the patients and clients.
Assures that the patient care delivery model(s), clinical and staffing standards for nursing are consistent with current research and professional standards.
Provides leadership and guidance to other members for the provision of patient care.
Maintains level of professional registered nursing practice though participation in educational programs and professional activities.
Ensures the staff is informed at least on a quarterly basis regarding the trends in occurrences as they pertain to patient safety in the unit.
Educates the staff on the established guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes.
Make a strategic plan, directs, monitor and evaluates the Nursing Service Personnel in order to provide an excellent nursing care to the client.
Ensure coordination of all the activities of the Nursing Service to other services.
Established a good performance evaluation tool to determine the Quality Care Standard
Makes general rounds in the clinical areas to ensure quality patient care are met
Initiates regular meetings and conferences to the different nursing units
Promotes the mission, vision and value of the organization.
Participates in the formulation of hospital policies, development and evaluation of programs and services.
Efficiently demonstrates cost consciousness by organizing work processes within established deadlines.
Proactively disseminates information to keep others informed on key issues and situations.
Review written reports, documents and special studies and make necessary actions and recommendations
Participates in the administrative meetings as the representative of the Nursing Service
Provides leadership and direction for the development of strategies to promote the recruitment, retention, and recognition of excellence in Nursing including oversight and recommendations regarding compensation and benefit programs for nursing staff.
Directs planning and implementation of Staff development and training for different categories of nursing personnel.
Spearheads the preparation of staff budget proposal for the nursing personnel. This will include manpower planning, forecasting of facilities and other equipment necessary for an efficient nursing service operation.
Recommends personnel for appointment, promotion or dismissal depending on staffing needs of the services
Leads, coaches, develop and recognize staffs to maximize performance.
Subject to "on Call" as the need arises
Consistently accurately and completely performs all job responsibilities.
