Be part of our client's team as a Medical Collection Specialist, where you will ensure accurate and timely billing. You'll work closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies, manage claim reimbursements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance, all while providing exceptional support that keeps the healthcare billing process running smoothly.

What You Need to Succeed

• 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Collection Specialist or in a similar healthcare role
• Strong knowledge of medical and insurance claim terminology
• Familiarity with insurance claims processing and reimbursement procedures
• Experience with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Ability to resolve various types of claim denials
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Preferred but not required:

• Degree in Medical Billing or a related field
• Certification in Medical Billing and Collections
• Experience with third-party billing and insurance verification

What You'll Handle

• Track insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement
• Communicate directly with payers to follow up on outstanding claims or check claim status through portals
• Conduct follow-up calls with payers and institutions until payment or resolution is obtained
• Collect, verify, and enter insurance and third-party payment information into the billing system
• Review and post payer denials for billing specialists to appeal according to guidelines and agreements
• Provide exceptional customer service for inquiries related to assigned accounts
• Maintain knowledge of changes in healthcare regulations and billing codes
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
• Attend business office and clinic-wide meetings as required
