The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial reports, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role supports month-end closing, government reporting, process implementation, and provides guidance to junior accounting staff.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Administrative & Documentation

  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of accounting policies, forms, and process flows.
  • Ensure timely submission of required financial and accounting reports.
  • Review and validate reports and documents submitted through G-Drive.
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting files, records, and documentation.

2. Accounting Setup & Process Implementation

  • Support the establishment of financial accounting objectives in line with business needs.
  • Apply proper accounting methods and ensure adherence to company procedures.
  • Assist in setting up accounting books using the company's system and maintaining accurate records.
  • Help maintain and update the Chart of Accounts and support budget monitoring.
  • Organize filing systems and ensure proper folio/documentation procedures are followed.
  • Assist in communicating and implementing policies and procedures to internal teams, vendors, and partners.

3. Transaction Validation, Reporting & Monitoring

  • Prepare, consolidate, and validate accounting reports such as:
  • Daily cashiering reports
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable reports
  • Weekly bank reconciliation
  • Monthly accounting schedules
  • Prepare journal entries, general ledger updates, and support month-end closing activities.
  • Assist in issuing audit findings and recommending process improvements.
  • Support timely and accurate financial reporting, including year-end audit preparation.
  • Review daily sales reports, remittances, and bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor assigned budgets and prepare variance or business review summaries for management.
  • Identify discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and contribute to process efficiency.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing financial and operational risks.

4. Government Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and submit government reports and regulatory requirements on schedule.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of all government compliance records.
  • Update monitoring logs and folders in G-Drive for easy reference.

5. Support to Team & Process Training

  • Provide guidance to junior staff on proper accounting processes and documentation.
  • Share updates on new accounting rules, compliance requirements, and government regulations.
  • Assist in onboarding or basic training related to accounting procedures as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or related field.
  • 3–5 years experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of PH accounting standards and government compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting systems (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or similar).
  • Strong MS Excel skills (pivot table, formulas).
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to handle multiple deadlines.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
