The Demand and Inventory Planner supports product availability by translating inputs from Trade Marketing and Brand teams into accurate forecasts and replenishment plans across Modern Trade and General Trade channels. The role demands sharp analytical skills, strong ownership, and seamless cross-functional collaboration to ensure healthy inventory and uninterrupted service across the value chain. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the planner is instrumental in driving supply planning and demand accuracy for assigned brands.

Key Responsibilities Demand Forecasting

  • Generate short- and medium-term forecasts at SKU level using sales trends, promotions, seasonality, and market intelligence.
  • Consolidate inputs from Sales, Marketing, Trade, and historical data to create a collaborative demand plan.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust projections based on actual sales performance and commercial changes.

Inventory Planning & Stock Management

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels by planning replenishment across distribution centers, retailers, and DTC platforms.
  • Monitor aging stocks, expiries, safety stocks, and lead times to minimize out-of-stocks and overstock risks.
  • Recommend stock reallocation, markdown, or pull-out strategies for slow-moving or near-expiry items.

Supply Planning & PO Management

  • Convert approved demand plans into actionable supply plans by coordinating with the Supply Chain Manager and distributor.
  • Support the preparation of purchase orders and monitor shipment ETAs and inbound schedules.
  • Track lead times from global principals to ensure timely and complete arrivals.

Channel Alignment (MT, GT, DTC)

  • Coordinate with Sales and E-commerce teams to align supply against promotion calendars and retail demand.
  • Adjust forecasts based on channel-specific sell-through, product velocities, and customer-specific data.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain dashboards on inventory health, stock days, forecast accuracy, and SKU performance.
  • Analyze stock gaps, consumption trends, and support management with supply risk alerts and insights.

Process Improvement

  • Contribute to process improvements across demand planning, replenishment, and system usage.
  • Recommend system enhancements, templates, or automation to improve planning efficiency.
