JOB SUMMARY

The Food Server plays a key role in delivering an excellent guest experience by performing a combination of reception, bar, and table service duties. This role requires exceptional English communication skills, attentiveness to guest needs, and knowledge of wine service standards. The Food Server ensures that all guests receive professional, friendly, and seamless service from the moment they arrive until they leave.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Experience & Service

  • Greet and seat guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring smooth reservations and walk-in handling.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions regarding menu items, wines, and beverages.
  • Take and accurately process food and beverage orders, ensuring guest preferences and dietary requirements are met.
  • Deliver food and drinks promptly and check back with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction.
  • Provide recommendations on food pairings and wines to enhance the dining experience.

Reception Duties

  • Manage reservations, phone calls, and inquiries courteously.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the host/reception area.
  • Handle guest complaints or issues tactfully, escalating to management when necessary.

Bar Duties

  • Prepare and serve basic cocktails, mocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Assist bartenders in setting up, replenishing, and maintaining the bar area.
  • Ensure proper handling and service of alcoholic beverages in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Wine Service

  • Demonstrate knowledge of wine list, vintages, regions, and basic wine pairings.
  • Perform proper wine service: presentation, uncorking, pouring, and serving by standard etiquette.
  • Upsell and recommend wines to complement menu items.

General Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of tables, service areas, and stations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen, bar, and fellow servers to provide seamless service.
  • Assist in opening, mid-shift, and closing duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1–2 years of experience as a server, bartender, or receptionist in F&B, hospitality, or restaurant setting.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of wines, cocktails, and beverage service (formal training or certification is an advantage).
  • Strong guest service orientation, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
