Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process invoices from vendors and suppliers.

Payment Management: Ensure timely payments to vendors by processing checks.

Record Transactions: Record invoices and payment details.

Reconcile Accounts: Reconcile accounts payable records with vendor statements to resolve discrepancies.

Maintain Payment Schedules: Ensure that payment schedules are adhered to, avoiding late payment penalties.

Vendor Relationships: Communicate with vendors to resolve any payment issues, discrepancies, or questions regarding invoices.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

Invoice Creation: Generate and send accurate invoices to clients/customers.

Collections: Follow up with clients on overdue invoices and manage collections efforts, maintaining good customer relationships.

Cash Application: Apply customer payments to the appropriate accounts, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.

Reconcile Accounts: Perform monthly or quarterly reconciliation of accounts receivable to the general ledger to ensure accuracy.

Maintain Aged Receivables: Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and provide updates to management on overdue accounts.

Customer Relations: Handle inquiries from customers related to billing or payments.

General Accounting Support:

Journal Entries: Prepare journal entries related to AP and AR transactions.

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, with a focus on accounts payable and

receivable.

Month-End Closing: Assist in closing the books at the end of the month and ensuring that AP/AR transactions are properly recorded.

Compliance and Accuracy:

Tax Reporting: Ensure proper tax handling for both accounts payable and accounts receivable (EWT, VAT)

Maintain Internal Controls: Follow internal control procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the accounts payable and receivable functions.
