GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Tax Manager will be responsible for calculating, analyzing and preparing tax returns and tax-related reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for various government agencies such as Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and other Local Government Units (LGUs) - ensuring timely and correct submission and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Shall provide guidance in new tax regulations and support in various tax-related projects, assess tax implications, identify opportunities for tax savings, and minimize tax liabilities.
KEY JOB ROLES
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and general ledger accounts, to identify potential tax savings opportunities and risks.
- Prepare and review accurate and timely tax returns, including but not limited to the following forms utilized in the Philippines:
- BIR Form 1702 (Annual Income Tax Return for Corporations, Partnerships, and Other Non-Individual Taxpayers)
- BIR Form 1601-C (Monthly Remittance Return of Income Taxes Withheld on Compensation)
- BIR Form 0619-E (Monthly Remittance Return for Creditable Income Taxes Withheld-Expanded)
- BIR Form 0619-F (Monthly Remittance Return for Final Tax)
- BIR Form 1601EQ (Quarterly Remittance Return for Creditable Income Taxes Withheld - Expanded)
- BIR Form 2550M (Monthly Value-Added Tax Declaration)
- BIR Form 2550Q (Quarterly Value-Added Tax Return)
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as the finance, accounting, and legal teams, to gather necessary information for tax compliance and reporting purposes.
- Stay abreast of changes in Philippine tax laws and regulations, and assess their impact on the company's tax obligations.
- Provide guidance and strategic tax planning advice to management, aimed at minimizing tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on complex tax issues, and prepare well-documented memos or reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Assist in responding to tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax-related activities, and recommend and implement appropriate changes.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation, ensuring adherence to record-keeping requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives related to tax compliance, reporting, and planning, as assigned by management.
- Assist in the preparation of Audited Financial Statements (AFS)
- Provide the required schedules related to tax
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related fields
- Preferably CPA
- Proven experience in tax related roles (2-3 years)
- Preferred audit firm background
- Proficient in excel
