GENERAL JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reefer Pier Coordinators are responsible for overseeing reefer container operations at the port to ensure cargo safety, compliance, and timely handling.
  • Their duties include monitoring plug-in and unplug schedules, verifying temperature settings, checking seal integrity, coordinating with shipping lines and truckers, and ensuring proper documentation.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Technical training or experience in Refrigerated Container (Reefer) Operations and Maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years in dispatching or logistics operations and with hands-on experience as a reefer technician or in reefer monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with temperature-sensitive cargo handling, including pharmaceuticals, perishables, and frozen goods.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the arrival and departure of vessels at the pier.
  • Ensure all reefer containers are properly plugged/unplugged according to vessel and yard schedules (FCL).
  • Ensure all reefer containers that are running properly plugged/unplugged on truckers genset and within temperature range as required by client (RVLT).
  • Perform technical checks on reefer units, applying technician knowledge to identify early signs of malfunction.
  • Monitor reefer alarms, power supply stability, and temperature deviations, for plugged in reefers prior ensuring immediate corrective action.
  • Check and record seal integrity upon container arrival and before departure.
  • Ensure compliance with the client's required temperature settings and confirm that the container is free from damages upon vessel unloading.
  • Serve as the point of contact between port operations, shipping lines, truckers, and reefer technicians.
  • Coordinate with technical support teams for troubleshooting or repair of faulty reefers.
  • Assist in the preparation of timeline of events, and draft incident and damage reports for review and approval.
  • Assist in the preparation, handling, and submission of all original delivery documents, port billings, and other related documentation for completed transactions.
