Production Planning Lead

Job Purpose

The Production Planning Lead oversees and coordinates all production planning and scheduling activities to ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machines, and materials. This role ensures that production operations are aligned with customer demand, material availability, and plant capacity, supporting on-time delivery and continuous operational improvement.

The position works closely with the Warehouse, Procurement, Production, and Technical Standards teams to balance supply and demand while maintaining inventory and cost efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Production Scheduling and Coordination Develop, maintain, and monitor the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and plant capacity.

· Ensure coordination with Production, Warehouse, and Procurement to confirm readiness of materials, equipment, and manpower.

· Adjust production schedules in response to material shortages, equipment breakdowns, or urgent customer requirements.

· Communicate schedule changes and priorities to all stakeholders clearly and promptly.

· Material and Capacity Planning Analyze capacity utilization, production rates, and bottlenecks; propose actions to optimize throughput.

· Validate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to prevent shortages or overstock situations.

· Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

· Collaborate with the Warehouse and Procurement teams to align replenishment and delivery schedules.

· Data Management and Reporting

· Generate and analyze production reports covering output, downtime, capacity utilization, and schedule adherence.

· Update and manage production data in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).

· Present planning performance reports to the Planning Owner and Operations Management Team.

· Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, reduce lead times, and enhance resource utilization.

· Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Support process standardization and best practice sharing across production areas.

· Cross-Functional Coordination Serve as the link between Planning, Production, Quality, and Technical Standards teams to ensure smooth production execution.

· Support planning for new product introductions, trials, and engineering changes.

· Ensure alignment between customer demand, material readiness, and plant capability.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.

· At least 3–5 years of experience in production or material planning in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong understanding of MRP, capacity planning, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data analysis tools.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred or Desired Skills

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S implementation.

· Strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams.

· Experience in KPI tracking and reporting.

Working conditions

• Primarily office-based but requires presence on the production floor for coordination and validation activities.
• May require extended hours during production planning cycles or audits.
• Limited travel to other sites or suppliers as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From Php16,000.00 per month
