Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Unix System Administrator located in BGC, Taguig. The Unix System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining Unix-based systems, ensuring optimal system performance, stability, and security. Key tasks include system deployment, configuration, troubleshooting and regular updates. The role also involves monitoring system performance, managing system backups and ensuring timely recovery solutions are in place.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux systems administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl for automating tasks
- Strong understanding of system performance tuning, system security, and network configurations
- Familiarity with server virtualization technologies and storage management
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Experience with IT infrastructure monitoring tools
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery processes
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Certifications in Linux/Unix administration (e.g., Red Hat, Solaris) are a plus.
