Job Description:

The IT Technical Writer (Technical Marketing Engineer) plays a critical role in bringing highly technical products and concepts to life for customers, prospects, and field teams. This role bridges the gap between product capabilities and user experience through compelling storytelling, in-depth competitive research, and deeply technical content development. The goal is to clearly communicate product value, drive customer engagement, and support growth across multiple channels.

What You'll Be Doing:

Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor across various content and marketing initiatives, lending your expertise to ensure accuracy, depth, and clarity.

• Bridge the knowledge gap for cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., SEO strategists, product marketing managers, and other writers)

• Field and answer questions from internal teams about product functionality, IT environments, best practices, and real-world use cases.

Develop High-Quality Technical Content

• Write detailed technical content such as step-by-step how-to guides, SOPs, best practice articles, and product usage walkthroughs. These should reflect real-world admin experience, not just theory.

• Support multimedia production teams by capturing accurate screenshots and screen recordings that demonstrate NinjaOne workflows and configurations in context.

• Transform product features into scenarios that resonate with IT pros—helping them understand how a feature fits into their day-to-day workflow or solves a specific pain point.

• Contribute to SEO strategy by helping create deeply authoritative and helpful content that ranks well.

Contribute to Competitive Intelligence & Product Insight

• Research and analyze competitor platforms to understand their technical strengths, weaknesses, and differentiators—helping position NinjaOne with clarity and confidence.

• Document platform behaviors and user flows across tools—both NinjaOne and competitors—to identify usability patterns, configuration complexity, or gaps in features.

• Assist in building internal technical tools like knowledge sheets, and training material that enable sales, support, and content teams to speak confidently and correctly about IT use cases and our solutions.

Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:00PM - 12:00AM
Office Days: One (1) Office day per week only

Skills and Qualifications:

Required Technical Background

• 2 years as a Systems Administrator, OR 3–4 years in a Level 2-3 IT support role with hands-on testing and troubleshooting experience.

• Comfortable with Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra / Azure AD, PowerShell scripting, registry editing, and endpoint management tools.

• Exposure to SaaS backup, RMM platforms, and enterprise IT infrastructure.

Writing & Documentation

• 1 year of experience or less in technical writing or documentation creation.

• Experience writing SOPs, knowledge base articles, or other technical content preferred.

• Familiarity with structured writing practices, documentation tools, and CMS systems.
