About the Role

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in managing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This position supports the Accounting Head and contributes to process improvements and team development.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for accurate financial records.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Review subsidiary ledgers and trial balances for data integrity.
  • Provide financial analysis and variance explanations to management.

Accounts Management

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Review supplier invoices, expense claims, and payment vouchers for proper authorization.
  • Monitor customer accounts and ageing; coordinate collections as needed.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly.

Audit & Compliance

  • Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls.

Financial Systems & Process Improvements

  • Participate in ERP system implementation and enhancements.
  • Recommend process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.

Team Support & Supervision

  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior accountants and assistants.
  • Review work completed by team members for accuracy and compliance.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement in accounting processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, MS Dynamics).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
