Damage Control Project Management (DCPM)
is a specialist consultancy helping Local Councils recover from natural disasters under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). We combine project management expertise with technology, GIS, and data capabilities to deliver critical recovery outcomes for communities across Australia.

The Role

Supporting our project management team, you will provide technical assistance and administrative support in maintaining documentation, registers and forms, reporting on project progress, coordinating communication between teams with high accuracy and timeliness.

The role will also change and mould around your skills and capability. We also work with GIS/spatial data, AI machine learning and camera survey and data capture technologies. Ideally you have experience and keen interest in one of these or similar areas. Basic IT literacy is a must.

Key tasks include:

• Maintain and organise project documentation
• Track project milestones, deliverables, and variations against approved scopes
• Support the preparation of reports, registers, and submissions (e.g. Form 306, scope summaries)
• Monitor project budgets and assist with cost tracking and reporting
• Coordinate communication between internal teams, councils, and external partners
• Assist in the submission and follow-up of funding-related documentation (e.g. DRFA)
• Maintain registers for scope changes, variations, approvals, and compliance records
• Support document control for WHS, quality, and environmental procedures
• Help ensure all project records are stored correctly in SharePoint and accessible for audits
• Provide administrative assistance to project teams and management as needed
• Contribute technical expertise in your area of skill (e.g., GIS analysis, code development, AI model training, data collection workflows).

About You

• Experience in project administration and/or management, ideally on infrastructure construction or planning projects.
• Attention to detail, exceptional accuracy and timeliness of project documentation and records
• Understanding of road infrastructure elements (e.g. seal, pavement, drainage) is highly desirable.
• Strong IT literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Sharepoint
• QGIS or other GIS software experience is highly desirable.
• Skills and experience in the following is highly desirable:
• GIS/spatial data platforms (we use QGIS).
• Machine learning or AI applications
• Programming/software development
• Data capture and processing technologies
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
