Performs under the supervision of Safety Health & Environment Officer (SHE) Department Head. Serves as Safety Officer 3 (SO3) of the company.

Comply with the minimum requirements of concern internal and external interested parties mandate rules.

Conducts regular inspection of buildings, facilities, work areas, tools and equipment of the company including those dealing with engineering safety specifications and environmental impacts; observes work methods procedures of workers, assists in investigation of workers involved in accidents, administers safety orientation to visitors, new employee and workers involved to accidents, administers safety orientation to visitors, new employee and workers to protect all workers and company property from injury. hazards or damage, respectively.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Advice manage on the following; Legal requirements affecting safety and health per DOLE OSH Standard and D.O , Potential hazards before work starts, Provision and use of personal protective equipment, and ways to improve work methods.
  2. Observes and complies with existing company codes on employee discipline, safety codes, policies, rules and regulation.
  3. Monitor regular inspection of buildings, facilities, work areas, tools and equipment of the company; observes work methods and procedures of workers to determine unsafe working conditions and practices.
  4. Investigates accidents by spot inspection and interrogation of parties and/or witnesses involved to determine cause and prevent recurrence of same.
  5. Prepares reports based on inspection, observation and investigation; recommending measures and methods of eliminating unsafe working conditions and procedures.
  6. Conducts monthly safety seminars and training through field demonstration and/or lectures on safety practices, accident prevention measures and defensive driving technique.
  7. Assist different tests to applicant drivers and company employees seeking driving permits and operators permit of company vehicles and equipment to determine driving proficiency.
  8. Orient newly hired employees on safety practices base on DOLE Mandated 8Hours OSH Seminar for Workers including COVID 19 Prevention and Control.
  9. Attends and/or participates on regular safety meeting within and outside the company.
  10. Participates on research studies on matters involving safety and recommends measures and procedures to prevent or eliminate unsafe working conditions and procedures.
  11. Monitors proper housekeeping and cleaning of the work area including furniture, tools and equipment, vehicles, supplies etc.
  12. Practice and monitors safety rules and regulations in the work area.
  13. Prepare a monthly accident statistics report and submit a copy to concerned DOLE offices.
  14. Familiar with Section 14 of D.O
