PRINCIPAL PURPOSE(S):

  • Responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe acts/condition situation and developing to assure safety of personnel and facilities.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Support the development of OHS policies and programs
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.)
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventive measures
  • Inspect interior and exterior work areas to determine if there are any safety hazard
  • Review existing policies and update according to legislation.
  • Initiate and organize OHS training of employee and executives
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, disposal of substance etc.
  • Observes workers to ensure that they are wearing required personal protective equipment
  • Preparing infraction report and submit to HR Supervisor
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes
  • Facilitates in the information of various safety terms e.g. road safety, industrial safety and chemical safety
  • Ensure that safety teams are capable in doing their designated responsibilities in case of emergency
  • Ensure that the safety parameters within the plant are being complied
  • Monitor the expiration of Fire Extinguishers, checklist of emergency lights, fire hose box and report the status to Top Management
  • Coordinates with all team leaders in the response to emergencies
  • Responsible for conducting an investigation on cases of emergency and review of performance of OHS team
  • Recommends to the OHS committee methods to hasten response to emergencies
  • To identify safety and fire hazards and housekeeping problem and take corrective action
  • To investigate causes of accidents and take action to prevent recurrence
  • Issue an appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to co-workers
  • Perform other work-related tasks as required and assigned by the HR and Top Management

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of any engineering course or at least college level of any course
  • With Basic Occupational Safety and Health Certificate (BOSH)
  • Must have excellent documentation, report management and presentation skills.
  • With good communication and collaboration skills
