Data Migration Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Migration Engineer with hands-on experience in GraphDB migration to lead and execute data migration initiatives across legacy and modern database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, ETL processes, and semantic graph technologies, with a focus on ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability throughout the migration lifecycle.

What we seek to accomplish together:

  • Lead end-to-end data migration projects involving GraphDB and other database platforms
  • Design and implement migration strategies for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • Develop and optimize ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into GraphDB
  • Analyze existing data models and translate them into graph-based schemas
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness during migration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data architects, developers, and business analysts
  • Monitor and troubleshoot migration processes, resolving issues promptly
  • Document migration procedures, configurations, and validation results
  • Provide post-migration support and performance tuning for GraphDB environments

What you must have to excel in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Proven experience in data migration projects, especially involving GraphDB or similar graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, Stardog)
  • Strong understanding of RDF, SPARQL, OWL, and other semantic web technologies
  • Proficiency in ETL tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL, Bash)
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and schema design
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities
