Job Description:

Receiving & Quality Assurance:

  • Accurately receive all incoming deliveries from suppliers, including raw materials (e.g., milk, sugar, fruits, packaging), finished goods (e.g., pre-made desserts), and equipment.
  • Verify the quantity and quality of all deliveries against order documentation (i.e., purchase orders and invoices).
  • Collaboratively communicate any discrepancies, damages, or issues immediately to the Supply Chain Manager.

Inventory Management & Storage:

  • Implement effective inventory management strategies (i.e., FIFO principles and company guidelines) to optimize product freshness and quality.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and prevent spoilage.
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean commissary environment.

Issuing & Production Support:

  • Assist in preparing items based on daily production and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain precise inventory records and update the inventory management system.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to ensure inventory levels are sufficient to meet production demands and proactively identify and address potential inventory issues or shortages.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in inventory audits, team discussions, share ideas, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Being open to learning new things and trying new approaches.
  • Assist in the preparation of inventory reports.

Commissary Operations:

  • Assist company drivers with the loading and unloading of deliveries.
  • Adhere to all safety and hygiene standards within the commissary.
  • Contribute to a helpful, friendly, and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or stockroom setting is a plus.
  • Experience handling food products is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management principles (FIFO, stock rotation).
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Excel, Google Forms, Adobe Reader) are a plus.
  • Physically fit & able to lift and move objects safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  • A friendly and open-minded attitude.
  • An interest in how things work and a desire to improve processes.
  • Must be willing to travel to store locations in the provinces as needed.
