Qualification:

  • Australian Setting Experience is a Must
  • Experience Handling a team of Junior to Senior Accountants/Bookkeeper as well as provide training and guidance
  • Process Individual Returns
  • experience in preparing the year end financial statements and tax returns in Australian businesses
  • Able to cover all tax types of  entities being companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and superfunds.
  • Experience in Superannuation Processing, BAS, IAS, Bookkeeping
  • Xero Practice Manager
  • Xero/MYOB
  • Class Super
  • ATO Portal Experience

  • Non-commercial loss rule
  • Division 7A Loans
  • Individual Tax Claims
  • Small Business Advice- WorkCover, Stamp Duty, Payroll Tax, FBT
  • Non-Small Business Advice
  • CGT SBE Business Concessions

  • CGT Calculation on Sale of Property
  • SGC obligations
  • Franking accounts and the dividend imputation system
  • Family Trust Elections
  • Completion of Co-invest administration
  • Taxable Payments Annual Reports
  • Tax Minimisation Strategies

Responsibilities:

  • Your major role will be to support your Senior Client Manager in getting the work completed.
  • You will need to be an expert in the all of these tax and accounting areas as you will need to be able to do the work, delegate and train other staff to do the work and review the work to ensure it is accurate, all tax, accounting and GST issues have been identified and tax strategies have been applied to minimize tax
  • You will help the less experienced and less qualified team members in completing their tasks and jobs.
  • You will train and review the work handed to you by your direct reports.
  • You will train and develop the technical skills of your direct reports helping and teaching them with all aspects of financial statement preparation, taxation return preparation, bookkeeping and payroll processing.
  • The role includes helping, supporting and training the Assistant Client Manager with all technical knowledge requirements.
  • Your team will most likely include Senior accountants, Intermediate Accountants, Graduate Accountants, Senior Bookkeepers, Intermediate/Junior Bookkeepers
  • The position requires you to report to the Senior Client Manager/Director
  • Your role is to review your teams work and ensure it for quality and have tasks and jobs done to a 90% to 100% completion stage for the Senior Client Manager.
  • In this regard you will have the ability to complete jobs for the Senior Client Manager and hand them to the Senior Client Manager on a golden platter.
  • You will be task driven but also have an ability to work with other accountants and bookkeepers, helping and guiding then technically
  • You will not be required to see clients face to face, but occasionally you will be asked to help your client manager with strategic client meetings, client software selection, business mentoring, strategic tax planning and structuring advice
