Job Overview:
The kitchen staff plays a crucial role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly, maintaining cleanliness, preparing food, and assisting chefs in creating a high-quality dining experience for customers. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients as directed.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and hygienic workspace.
- Wash, clean, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Stock and organize kitchen inventory, ensuring ingredients are fresh and readily available.
- Help chefs and cooks with basic cooking tasks during meal preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas, including floors, counters, and storage.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables appropriately and assist with overall kitchen organization.
- Monitor kitchen supplies and inform the manager when items need replenishment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations as per restaurant and local standards.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, such as setting up stations and cleaning work areas.
