Transport Supervisor

Job Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's College Degree in Engineering or other related courses.
• Proven work experience for at least 4 years as Supervisor in any Road Transport business preferably in oil industry.
• Ability to meet deadlines and targets, can work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Great interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.
• Strong work ethics.
• Proficient in MS Office Tools
• Ok for on-call travel in cases of emergency and incidents.
• Must be willing to work during Mondays-Saturdays.
• Must be willing to travel regularly and knows how to drive.

Job Description:

• Hauler Management: Accredit and audit new and existing haulers to ensure compliance to all regulatory and HSSE programs.
• Driver Management: Process accreditation and spot check drivers. Address driver concerns and provide necessary support.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the truck fleet complies with all relevant regulations, including DOT regulations. Stay updated on industry regulations and recommend necessary changes.
• Cost Management: Develop and manage the truck fleet budget. Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs, such as fuel efficiency improvements. Analyze data to make informed decisions regarding truck usage and replacement.
• Emergency Response Planning: Develop and update emergency response plans specific to oil transportation incidents, ensuring swift and effective action in case of accidents or spills.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with transportation regulations, hazardous material handling guidelines, and oil industry safety standards.
• Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct rigorous safety audits and inspections of vehicles, equipment, and transportation facilities. Address non-compliance issues promptly and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to rectify them.
• Driver Training and Certification: Develop comprehensive training programs for drivers and transportation personnel, covering safety procedures, defensive driving, and emergency response. Ensure all drivers hold the necessary certifications for transporting hazardous materials.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into transportation-related incidents and accidents. Compile detailed incident reports, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Environmental Stewardship: Collaborate with environmental teams to minimize the impact of transportation operations on the environment. Ensure compliance with spill response procedures and regulations to prevent contamination.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including transport, terminal, and HSSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) departments to promote a culture of safety. Communicate safety updates, initiatives, and concerns to management and staff.
• Real-time Monitoring: Ensure dispatchers monitor delivery processes in real-time using tracking systems, software tools, and communication channels to ensure deliveries are on track and any deviations are promptly addressed.
• Issue Resolution: Identify and address delivery-related issues such as delays, route deviations, address changes, and other potential challenges. Collaborate with relevant teams to swiftly resolve issues and minimize customer impact.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and requests related to delivery. Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the delivery journey.
• Coordinating with Internal Teams: Collaborate with hauler, terminal, sales, and other relevant teams to coordinate delivery schedules, inventory availability, and any changes affecting the delivery process.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery activities, including tracking information, delivery confirmations, and issue resolution details.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the delivery monitoring process. Propose and implement solutions to enhance overall delivery operations.
• HSSE RT Standards: Ensure adherence to Road Transport HSSE standards
• Delivery Optimization: Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
• Calculate and adjust freight rates.
