Supervises: Accounting Assistant / Branch Bookkeeper / Cashiers

Assigned Units: Tres Filipino Twist (2 branches)

Job Summary:

The General Accountant (Supervisory Level) is responsible for overseeing the financial health and accounting operations of Tres Filipino Twist restaurant branches. This role ensures accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, compliance with accounting standards, and the generation of management reports to support decision-making. The position supervises branch-level accounting staff and coordinates closely with operations and head office departments to maintain efficient financial processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Generate management dashboards showing branch performance, sales trends, and cost efficiency metrics.
  • Reconcile inter-branch transactions and eliminate duplications during consolidation.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each branch.
  • Ensure accurate recording of revenues, expenses, and other transactions in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Reconcile bank statements, sales reports, and supplier accounts.
  • Consolidate financial data from all branches and submit reports to management on schedule.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide insights on cost control and profitability improvement.

B. Accounting Operations

  • Reconcile collections from bank deposits, credit cards, e-wallets (GCash, Maya) and food delivery platforms.
  • Validate branch sales reports against system data and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Supervise liquidations and reimbursements from branches with proper supporting documents.
  • Ensure timely month-end closing across all branches.
  • Supervise daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Oversee payroll computation, statutory remittances (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR), and ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Manage cash flow and monitor branch fund disbursements, deposits, and collections.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly and annual BIR reports (e.g., VAT, EWT, 1701Q/1702).

C. Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Conduct variance analysis for food cost, beverage cost, and operating supplies.
  • Implement periodic audits (cash, stocks, sales report) to ensure compliance with the company standards.
  • Implement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
  • Review and verify branch cash sales, petty cash liquidations, and inventory adjustments.
  • Conduct surprise cash counts and branch audits when necessary.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and government agencies for compliance and reporting.

D. Team Supervision & Coordination

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of accounting assistants and cashiers.
  • Coordinate with branch managers to resolve accounting discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Provide training to branch accounting personnel on financial procedures and controls.

E. Strategic & Administrative Support

  • Maintain and improve accounting systems (POS integration, ERP, QuickBooks, Xero, or custom software).
  • Develop SOPs for financial controls, branch cash handling, and expense authorization.
  • Participate in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Provide management with financial insights for business decisions and process improvement.
  • Support special projects, system upgrades, or new branch openings as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3–5 years of accounting experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
  • Certification: CPA is an advantage but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel.
