Early Years Teacher & Primary level tutor (Dual Role)

Are you passionate about early childhood education and supporting primary learners? The British Learning Centre (BLC) is looking for a nurturing and flexible Early Years Teacher & Primary Level Tutor to join our vibrant team. This unique dual-role position combines classroom teaching for young learners with academic tutorial support for primary-aged students (ages 5–13).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons for children aged 2–4.11 in an early years setting, while also providing small-group or one-on-one academic support to primary-level students aged 5 to 13 years. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple age groups in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Schedule

  • Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
  • Lunch Break: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
  • Teaching Schedule: Early Years and Primary level classes are scheduled throughout the day between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with a combination of classroom teaching and tutorial sessions.

Key ResponsibilitiesEarly Years Teaching (Ages 2–6)

  • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based lessons aligned with the British curriculum
  • Foster the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of young learners
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Observe and assess children's progress and developmental milestones
  • Support positive behavior and build confidence and independence
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents and caregivers

Primary Level Tutoring (Ages 5–13)

  • Provide academic support in core subjects such as English, Math, and Science
  • Conduct one-on-one or small-group sessions tailored to each child's learning needs
  • Use informal assessments to identify gaps and adapt instruction accordingly
  • Assist students with homework, school projects, and study skills
  • Create engaging and age-appropriate learning materials
  • Track progress and provide feedback to parents and the wider team

Collaboration & Professional Growth

  • Work cooperatively with fellow teachers and support staff
  • Participate in planning meetings and team discussions
  • Attend professional development sessions to stay current with best practices
  • Uphold BLC's values of care, inclusion, and academic excellence

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with children in both early years and primary levels
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate pedagogy
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Empathetic, patient, and enthusiastic about learning
