YOUR ROLE AS A: Network Engineer / IT Network Specialist

As part of AirAsia's tech backbone, you'll ensure that our networks stay fast, reliable, and secure—keeping our Allstars connected across borders and skies. You'll be managing the design, maintenance, and performance of AirAsia's LAN, WAN, and cloud networks, while proactively troubleshooting and improving system reliability for both on-site and remote operations.

WHAT YOU'LL CHAMPION:

• Support and maintain computer networks, hardware, software, and related systems in line with industry best practices.
• Manage and support LANs, WANs, Internet, and Intranet systems to ensure seamless connectivity.
• Collaborate closely with AirAsia operations and monitoring teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues.
• Lead disaster recovery operations and ensure data, software, and hardware protection against cyber threats.
• Replace and maintain faulty network components to ensure continuous performance.
• Analyze, isolate, and troubleshoot complex network issues promptly.
• Resolve network performance issues (availability, utilization, throughput, latency) and plan for upgrades or improvements.
• Define and implement network policies, configurations, and security protocols, including firewall and VPN management.
• Evaluate and improve system performance through regular monitoring and optimization.
• Maintain network services such as VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems, and access control mechanisms.
• Engage with vendors for network upgrades, testing, and performance tuning.
• Ensure strong network security through monitoring, documentation, and proactive controls.
• Maintain and troubleshoot wireless infrastructure for both office and remote setups.
• Manage and support Network Access Control (NAC) systems to ensure compliance and security.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of solid experience in network administration or engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Networking Administration and Engineering roles.
• Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (additional languages are a plus).
• Familiar with Cloud Network Architecture (Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or AWS).
• Skilled in Cloud Network Modules, Configuration, and Public Cloud operations.
• A proactive, self-motivated team player who can multitask and adapt to fast-paced environments.
• Fast learner with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage effectively across all user levels.
