We're looking for a Purchasing Head for a fast-food franchisee in the Philippines.
The Purchasing Head is responsible for overseeing the procurement of raw materials, supplies, and equipment to support the company's food franchise operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing strategies, maintains strong supplier relationships, and guarantees that inventory levels consistently meet operational requirements. The Purchasing Head also leads negotiations, manages contracts, and implements procurement policies to achieve efficiency, quality, and cost savings for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent availability of stocks, raw materials, and goods required for operations.
- Source, negotiate, and purchase high-quality merchandise at the most competitive prices while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers based on cost, quality, service, delivery timelines, and overall performance.
- Monitor and track deliveries to ensure timeliness, addressing delays or undelivered items when necessary.
- Review and manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Conduct regular market research, review industry publications, and consult with relevant departments to identify new products, suppliers, and sourcing opportunities.
- Meet with vendors and visit supplier facilities to stay updated on product offerings, price trends, and market developments.
- Develop, implement, and improve procurement policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Prepare bid specifications, request and evaluate vendor proposals, and administer contracts for major purchases.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives by identifying high-margin opportunities and negotiating favorable supplier agreements.
- Ensure procurement activities align with company standards for cost efficiency, quality, and timeliness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain accurate inventory levels that adequately support operational needs.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of departmental strategies to improve efficiency and strengthen supplier management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- 8+ years of proven experience in purchasing or in a similar procurement role, in the food and beverage industry, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration skills.
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management, and cost-control strategies.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
Work Schedule:
- Onsite reporting
- Monday to Friday; 08:00 to 6:00
