Job Title: Staff Accountant

Work Set Up: 100% Remote

Shift Schedule: US Time Zone (Central Time)

Equipment: To be provided by the client

Job Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and driven staff accountant to join our finance team. The staff accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements, maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations and journal entries, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and conducting financial analysis as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and examine financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

  2. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

  3. JE preparation and support

  4. Bank Reconciliations
  5. Other reports and reconciliations as necessary to close the books
  6. Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  7. Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential financial risks.
  8. Review and code accounts payable invoices.
  9. Prepare and file tax returns (income tax, sales tax, etc.) accurately and on time.
  10. Assist with internal and external audits.
  11. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  12. Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial goals are met.
  13. Provide support to finance team members as needed.
  14. Actively contribute to process improvement projects and provide assistance during billing and other tasks.
  15. Other work and reporting as considered necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred
  • CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) as a staff accountant or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (experience with ERP systems a plus).
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, ).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.

Working Conditions:.

  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (month-end, year-end).

  • Be available for daily update meetings during the following times:

  • Morning in the USA / Evening in the Philippines:

    • USA (CST): 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
    • Philippines: 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM

    • Evening in the USA / Morning in the Philippines:

    • USA (CST): 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

    • Philippines: 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
    • Access to high-speed Wi-Fi and a reliable power supply.
    • Have access to a quiet place to work where they can produce 8 hours of work during non-busy times and work overtime as needed.
