Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job (comparable 2-3 years) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience working in application/database support.
  • General understanding of application/database administration and architecture
  • Knowledge in backup and recovery, monitoring and alerting, assigning users rights and day to day troubleshooting for both application and database
  • Effective and efficient implementation of IT Policies, procedures, system and programs for the organization
  • Life Cycle Management, preventive and pro-active maintenance program implementation for existing IT assets

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of server-based applications
  • Responsible for deployment of application upgrades and patches.
  • Perform routine database monitoring, ensuring the health and availability of systems/applications
  • Responsible for fine-tuning of configuration of application settings for optimal performance
  • Tasked with coordination with 3rd party support/vendors to address application/related issues
  • For new projects, involved in design of application workflow and technical specifications.
  • Maintenance of application user access and monitoring of authorization
  • Responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of database systems.
  • Responsible for deployment of patches and upgrades of databases.
  • Responsible for fine Tuning of configuration of database settings for optimal performance.
  • Responsible for performing regular backups and maintaining automatic backup jobs
  • Responsible for monitoring available server resources (eg. Disk space, RAM, etc) for optimal database performance
  • Knowledgeable in SQL for running required queries or task in the DB (eg. Loading of data, updating of system configuration)
  • Maintenance of DB user access and monitoring of authorization
