Inventory Analyst

The role

Biosite Medical Instruments, Inc.' is seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to join our dynamic team in Davao City Davao del Sur. As a full-time Inventory Analyst, you will play a crucial role in optimising our inventory management processes and ensuring the efficient flow of medical equipment and supplies to support our growing business.

Key responsibilities

Inventory Management:

• Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure the right amount of stock is available to meet customer demand without overstocking.
• Perform regular inventory reconciliations to ensure physical stock matches system records.
• Assist with inventory audits, cycle counts, and year-end physical inventory processes.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement in inventory turnover and storage costs.
• Provide detailed reports on inventory levels, stock movement, order fulfillment rates, and demand forecasts.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate inventory performance and efficiency.

Forecasting and Demand Planning:

• Work closely with sales and purchasing teams to forecast inventory needs based on sales trends, seasonal demands, and promotions.
• Use historical data, market trends, and demand planning tools to create accurate inventory forecasts.
• Provide recommendations for stock reordering based on demand patterns, seasonal changes, and upcoming sales events.

Order and Stock Replenishment:

• Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and replenishment of inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Track order lead times, product availability, and vendor performance to avoid delays in restocking.
• Ensure that inventory reorder points and safety stock levels are aligned with demand forecasts.

Inventory Optimization:

• Identify and implement strategies to reduce excess or obsolete inventory, minimize stockouts, and improve inventory turnover rates.
• Optimize storage and shelving in the warehouse or stockroom to maximize space and minimize the time required to locate products.
• Recommend process improvements or changes to inventory control procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, warehouse, sales, and finance to align inventory strategies with overall business objectives.
• Communicate inventory issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement to management and other relevant teams.
• Work with customer service to ensure that inventory availability aligns with customer orders and expectations.

System and Process Management:

• Utilize inventory management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to track and manage inventory levels.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the system, ensuring data integrity.
• Provide training and support to team members on inventory management software, best practices, and process improvements.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in a related field or industry
• Communication Skills: ability to interact professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Organizational Skills: manage time, prioritize tasks, and keep work organized
• Computer Proficiency: basic to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), email systems, and internet research.
• Problem-Solving: A fundamental skill for addressing challenges or issues that arise on the job, especially in customer service, support, or technical roles.
• Customer Service Skills: strong customer service skills including managing complaints, addressing queries, and maintaining a positive company image.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring that tasks are completed accurately
• Adaptability and Flexibility: ability to adjust to changing priorities, new tasks, and evolving work environments is important, especially in dynamic workplaces.
