  • Sales and lead generation: Make cold calls and follow up on leads to sell products, services, or solicit donations.
  • Customer interaction: Answer inbound calls, provide information about products, services, and prices, and handle customer questions or complaints.
  • Sales script and objection handling: Follow a sales script, but also be able to answer questions, handle objections professionally, and persuade customers to buy.
  • Record keeping: Maintain a database of customers and log call activity, outcomes, and sales records accurately.
  • Administrative tasks: Schedule appointments for sales visits or presentations and conduct customer surveys.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills are essential to engage with potential customers effectively.
  • Persuasion: The ability to persuade and influence customers is key to closing sales.
  • Computer proficiency: Strong computer skills are necessary for using CRM software, logging data, and managing customer information.
  • Multitasking: Ability to talk on the phone while simultaneously taking notes, updating records, or handling other tasks.
  • Customer service: Strong listening skills and the ability to handle customer issues or complaints to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Sales acumen: A results-oriented attitude with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals is often a plus.
